Welcome to Oak Tree Nursery
Oak Tree Nursery is owned and managed by Elaine Godfrey. Elaine started childminding under the umbrella of Oak Tree Nursery in 2007, after the birth of her first child. As Elaine’s family grew to 3 children, so did the nursery, with addition of 2 Childminding Assistants.
In 2014 Elaine applied for registration for Childcare on Domestic Premises (CODP), to allow 4 or more Childcare Practitioners working together. Today there are approximately 9 – 10 staff working within the nursery, which include a Nursery Cook and Housekeeper. The nursery is based with in the family home providing an excellent balance between a sole childminder and larger nursery.
Elaine was originally a secondary school teacher at Castle School in Thornbury & Winterbourne Academy, where she also held the post of Deputy Head of Year. Elaine holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Qualified Teacher Status.
To this day Elaine still holds two registrations – Childminder & CODP. This means more regular inspections from Ofsted ensuring we are always working to a higher standard of care.
As a Childminder, Elaine holds an Outstanding Provider grade from Ofsted in 2015 & 2019 and as Childcare on Domestic Premises we have a Good Provider grade awarded in 2014 & 2017.
All staff are fully DBS checked and fully qualified Paediatric First Aiders.
Oak Tree Nursery is open Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm (6pm on request). Within the nursery we have a Baby Room (0-2years), Toddler Room (2-3years) and Preschool Room (3+years) with books, toys and resources tailored for each room.
We pride ourselves in the service we offer. We are fully committed to a flexible approach where pickups and drop offs are based around your personal and working requirements. We offer wrap around care for school children at Charfield School, so your child can remain with us for longer.
We offer dedicated sessions of Yoga led by a qualified Yoga teacher, Music and Movement session and trips out around the local area.

Setting

Oak Tree Nursery is situated in Charfield, a small village on the border between Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire.
We have a family setting, based in a small cul-de-sac, with fields and farmland to the rear.
There is a big garden with a large playhouse, swings, slide, climbing frame and a large mud kitchen. We also have - a Summer House, full of toys and resources; a large writing wall; ride on toys; water play; bouncy castle and much more.
Your child will be cared for with the utmost kindness, love and respect, in a warm homely environment.
